Born: 26 October 1830 London, England. Died: 17 August 1900 Brighton, Victoria, Australia. | |
Lloyd Tayler was probably Victoria’s best and most prolific architect during the mid to late 1800s. He designed numerous banks, churches, warehouses, offices, retail shops and private mansions in Victoria. He also won a national competition for the design of the South Australian House of Parliament. Tyler was an inaugural member and a three-time president of the Victorian Institute of Architects and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects. |
