Born: 5 September 1926 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Died: 25 December 2004. | |||
John Henry Carver became Professor of Physics and Director of the Research School of Physical Sciences, Australian National University in 1978. Prior to this he was Professor of Physics at University of Adelaide (1961-78) and was heavily involved in atmospheric physics research. The Wresat satellite launched in 1967 carried with it many experiments designed by Carver and his team. The Australian National University honoured him in 1994 with the naming of the John Carver Building at the Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering. |
