Born: 17 February 1871 Auchmithie, Forfarshire, Scotland. Died: 4 March 1937 South Yarra, Victoria, Australia. | |||
John Anderson Gilruth was Professor of Veterinary Pathology and Director of the Veterinary Research Institute, University of Melbourne from 1908. He was Adminstrator of the Northern Territory 1912-20 and later Chief of the Division of Animal Health, CSIR. Earlier, from 1893, Gilruth was a government veterinary surgeon in New Zealand becoming Chief Veterinarian and Bacteriologist in 1897. |
