Member of the Ministry of Supply Research Team 1939-44 and the Inter-Service Research Bureau 1943-44. Fellow, Royal Society 1955, Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1962, Davy Medal, Royal Society 1986. Chairman of editorial board, "Biochemical Journal" 1955-59.
