Solander, Daniel (1733 - 1782)

Born: 19 February 1733  Pitea, Norrland, Sweden.  Died: 13 May 1782  England.
Daniel Solander was appointed to James Cook's first voyage to the Pacific on board the "Endeavour" 1768-71, as a scientific assistant. He was later secretary and librarian to Joseph Banks.
