Turner, Fred (1852 - 1939)

Botanist and Horticulturalist
Born: 17 April 1852  Burton Salmon, Yorkshire, England.  Died: 17 October 1939  Chatswood, New South Wales.
Fred Turner joined the staff of the Botanic Gardens, Sydney in 1880 and in 1890 was appointed economic botanist in the new Department of Agriculture, New South Wales but was retrenched in 1893. He was later consulting botanist to the Western Australian Government.
