| Born: 21 December 1798 Leith, Mid-Lothian, Scotland. Died: 6 January 1864 France. | ||
| John Clements Wickham was Captain of the "Beagle" and conducted maritime surveys and scientific surveys around the Australian coast 1837-41. He was the first Government Resident at Morton Bay where he was police magistrate from 1843. |
