Johannes Christian Brünnich was government agricultural chemist for the Queensland Department of Agriculture 1897-1931. His "Elementary Lessons on the Chemistry of Farm, Dairy, and Household", first published serially in 1906 in the "Queensland Agricultural Journal", had monograph editions in 1912 and 1922 and was a text in rural colleges for many years. |

Sugar-beet factories in Bohemia and Russia; wholesale drugs firm, Georgia, USSR; Swiss military service 1884; manager, sugar refinery and maltings, Brisbane 1885-86; manager, sugar mill, Darwin 1886-87; chemist and manager, Colonial Sugar Refining Co. Homebush mill near Mackay 1887-97; government agricultural chemist, Queensland Department of Agriculture 1897-1931; lecturer in chemistry, Gatton Agricultural College 1897-99. President, Royal Society of Queensland 1908; examiner in chemistry, Queensland College of Pharmacy and Chemistry. |
