(Sir) Stanley Seymour Argyle, who began working with X-rays in 1908, was appointed 'medical electrician and skiagraphist' at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and was Director of Radiology 1924-29. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1920 and was Premier 1932-35. |

General practitioner, Kew, Victoria 1894-ca 1907, specialist in X-ray work ca 1908-29, medical electrician and skiagraphist (later radiologist), Alfred Hospital 1908-24, Director of Radiology 1924-29, consulting radiologist from 1929, skiagraphist, Australian Imperial Force 1915-17, member of the Legislative Assembly 1920-40 (?), leader of the Opposition 1930-32, premier, treasurer and minister for health 1932-35, leader of the Opposition 1935-40 (?). Founder and director, Willsmere Certificated Milk Co. 1898-1920. President, Victorian branch, British Medical Association 1925. |
