| Born: 13 April 1860 Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia. Died: 6 November 1913 London, England. | ||
| Frederick John Clendinnen, the father of Leslie John Clendinnen, was a general practitioner in Melbourne 1886-1898 and thereafter a medical radiologist, one of the first in the world. He is generally acknowledged to be the first medical man in Melbourne to take an X-ray photograph of a patient. |

Educated University of Melbourne, Edinburgh (L and LMid, RCP and RCS 1884) and Brussels (MD and doctorate of midwifery 1885). General practice, Hawksburn, Victoria 1886-98, bought his first X-ray apparatus 1896, medical radiologist 1898-1913, first honorary skiagraphist, (Royal) Melbourne Hospital and Eye and Ear Hospital 1896-1913. | |
