Born: 19 September 1902 Caulfield, Victoria, Australia. Died: 22 February 1961 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. | ||
Geoffrey Holt Grimwade had widespread business interests, including Chairmanship of Drug Houses of Australia Ltd, Carba Dry Ice (Australia) Ltd and Wrightcel Pty Ltd. He also held numerous directorships, was a member of the Reserve Bank Board of Australia and of the Council of the Australian Staff College, Director of the A.M.P. Society and President of the Walter and Eliza hall Institute of Medical Research. Grimwade was educated at the universities of Melbourne (BSc) and Cambridge (MA). He was the grandson of Frederick Sheppard Grimwade who was a co-founder of Felton Grimwade & Co. – Australia’s biggest drug house during the 1800s – and founder of many other manufacturing companies including the Melbourne Glass Bottle Works. |
