Morgan, Alexander Matheson (1867 - 1934)

Born: 11 February 1867  Mitcham, South Australia, Australia.  Died: 18 October 1934.
Alexander Matheson Morgan was an amateur ornithologist with a particular interest in sea birds. He presented his collection of avian osteological specimens to the South Australian Museum in 1927, in addition to his oological collection in 1934 and about 500 bird-skins.

Born Mitcham, South Australia, 11 February 1867. Died 18 October 1934. Educated University of Adelaide (MB, BSc). Medical practice, Laura and Stone till 1898; medical practice, Adelaide 1898-ca 1907; oculist, England for a period before resuming medical practice in Adelaide till retirement; Honorary Ornithologist, South Australian Museum from 1922. Founding member, South Australian Ornithological Association 1899, founding president 1899-1901, president 1907-08, 1916-17, 1925-26, 1931-32. Corresponding Fellow, American Ornithologists Union 1929. Early member, Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union; member, Flora and Fauna Board of South Australia.
