Bronwyn Jane Adams graduated from Monash University in 1971 as the first female chemical engineer in Victoria. She was the first female to be employed as an engineer by the Altona Petrochemical Company (APC), where she worked for 18 years. In 1991 she began working at the University of Melbourne, firstly as executive manager in the School of Chemistry and later as general manager of the Faculty of Education. Adams maintained a close relationship with the University of Melbourne after leaving in 1996 and working as an independent consultant. |
