Randell, William Richard (1824 - 1911)

Born: 2 May 1824  Sidbury, Devon, England.  Died: 4 March 1911  South Australia, Australia.
William Richard Randell was the first man to put a steamboat on the Murray River. He had the boat, Mary Ann, built in 1852-53, extending it to 75 feet in 1854 and joining it with a new hull, in 1855, mounting the single paddle-wheel between the two hulls and renaming it Gemini.
